Magnesium hydroxide, as an important halogen-free flame retardant and industrial raw material, is in increasingly high demand in the Korean market for granular products with high flowability and narrow particle size distribution. The client sent 10 kg of raw materials seeking a high-efficiency, low-energy granulation solution to address the issues of high dust levels and difficult feeding of the raw powder. They also required a final product particle size strictly controlled between 2-3 mm to meet the smooth requirements of downstream processing.

Faced with the client's stringent requirements, our laboratory quickly deployed the CO-NELE CR02 laboratory high-power mixing pelletizer. Although its volume is only 5 liters, this equipment demonstrated remarkable adaptability in processing materials like magnesium hydroxide, which have a low bulk density and are difficult to pelletize, thanks to its efficient mixing mechanism and powerful shearing granulation capabilities.

In three consecutive batch experiments, the technical team precisely controlled the agitator speed and the critical point of material adhesion. Experimental records show that the entire granulation process, from feeding to discharge, took only 6 minutes. This data not only far exceeds the mixing cycle of traditional processes, which often takes tens of minutes, but also reaches the superior level of the design parameters of the CO-NELE CR02 small-scale granulator.

Experimental results show:

Extremely high pelletizing rate: Uniform pelletizing was achieved in all three batches.
Precise particle size: Laser particle size analyzer confirmed that the particle diameter was perfectly locked within the 2-3mm range.
Moderate strength: The particles meet the requirements for subsequent conveying and metering, while retaining good dispersion performance.
